Gorilla glas does NOT mean scratch resistant. You have to balance softness for fallprotection VS hardness for scratch resistance, so its always a compromise. Older phones can be more scratch resistant, i think the Gorilla glass 3 was more scratch resistant as well, but drop it a few times and usually the gorilla glas 5 wins.
